Chris Regan
Chris Regan is a television writer, stand up comedian, and one of the authors of the best-selling America: the Book. Regan was a writer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart from 1999 through 2006, earning four Emmys and two Peabodys. He contributed material to Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” segment when hosted by Colin Quinn during the 98/99 season and has published humor pieces for both USA Today and New York Magazine. He recently sold an original sitcom pilot to 20th Century Fox Television and is the curator, creator, and writer of Mass Historia which was recently praised by Time Out New York for its “daily doses of high-concept high jinx [which] house the prolific humorist’s chronicles of historical facts and, mostly, fictions.” [See all of Chris’s posts]
Sienna Kirschenbaum
Sienna Kirschenbaum is the pseudonym for a mid-level executive in an entertainment company that would rather she not being doing this. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two Shar-Peis, or maybe it’s one Shar-Pei and two husbands; she’s confident, however, the total is three. A bit of a rebel, she is a religious Jew but doesn’t believe in the culture. [See all of Sienna’s posts]
Fanny Roborat
Fanny Roborat is the official mascot of Fanatical Apathy. She’s a radio-controlled living cybernetic rat, which is surprisingly a lot more real than it sounds. She first appeared here back in 2002, when a seriously disturbing science article drew her and her kin to our attention. She can be steered via remote control by having the pleasure centers of her brain directly stimulated by electronic implants (not unlike Adam), which is a handy thing for a mascot.
In very little time it became obvious that Fanny embodied a certain post-9/11 zeitgeist, and she had her portrait drawn by gifted artist Rick Schmitz and began to make regular appearances on the site. It’s not clear what has happened to all the robotic rats (Fanny’s brethren were expected to quickly get down to the business of defusing bombs and hunting for survivors amid the rubble of various accidents), as there’s been precious little news about them over the past three years. But Fanny is, and remains, the (partially) living symbol of Fanatical Apathy.
