RIP, Madelyn Dunham.

I am torn between quoting from The Book Of Common Prayer or Michael Moore. That doesn't happen often. So glad he went to visit her last month.

Whoops. Too much Halloween candy on Friday and Saturday leads to a grumpy Sunday. Perhaps I should have simply said BM is not my cup of tea. Argh.

Just by the way, parenting is hard.... Enjoy the portable years, Adam.

Naw. At the risk of biting the hand that feeds Adam, I find BM regularly crass, condescending, and absurdly self-centered. His jokes generally make me wince. The Selma Hayec joke, for instance, is weirdly lewd and all about what Bill wants, without even considering the reason she has boobs in the first place. When he jokes about preferably getting rid of the kid (the latter), it just sounds ugly and sad, even though it is calculated as funny. About half way through that routine I'd winced about 7 times and laughed twice before turning it off.

The Daily Show does political satire so much better. Their humor generally arises from exposing hypocrisy and hubris as opposed to indulging in it.

On a happy note, Hubble has been switched back on and is operating perfectly after a mysterious month long sabbatical.
