The internet just got a whole lot cuter. I don’t know why, until now, nobody realized that the worldwide web could be used to pass people “links” to go to other “pages” where they could find cute things to goggle at. But I’m going to get the ball rolling.
I give you Hugo, on ToddlerTube!
Yes, that’s my completely prepossessing little nephew, and that’s Susie’s new internet gig - videoblogging with her nonhideous progeny. Enjoy!
[I’ve never understood how one could “prepossess” anything. As a guy who’s spent his life in show business, I’ve always thought that either you’ve got it or you don’t. Hmmm. Still, Hugo is undeniably prepossessing. Hmm…]

1Uh oh. Poor Fonzie Grommit better come into the world doing a time-step while balancing a wine glass on his or her head to measure up to cousin Hugo.
Although for Jeanne’s sake I hope that is not the case.

2THANK YOU ADAM! Awesome. And get ready FANAPER FANS — ADAM will be on ToddlerTube later this week… even if he doesn’t know it yet!

3Why does Susie look like that redhead in Patriot Games?
The wren are scouting out the garage. Spring has sprung in East Tree Stump.
It's Pat!

4I really like that picture off to the right of the clip. Gorgeous.
My kids were cuter, so there.
WF, winter has walloped in North Pine Stump. Chickadees will eat out of a person’s hand, however. Same with Nuthatches. That’s kind of neat.

5Oh Great Lobster. I’ve suddenly glimpsed the future of this blog, and it’s not good. Farewell, biting social commentary. So long, insightful political analysis. Hello, drool-inspired baby anecdotes.
I think I need a drink.

6If we all drink enough, maybe we can all drool along!
(That redhead in Patriot Games was Anne Archer, waterfowler. But you probably knew that!)
(And the answer to “Why?”…’cause redheads are HOT! Can I get a witness? Ann, dee, Cooper?)

7Cooper’s a redhead? That’s not how I remember him…

8Just once before I die, I’m going to be a redhead. I could get away with it, I think–brown eyes, fair skin, freckles?

9The chickadees in Connecticut are singing like it’s March or April. The woodpeckers are getting pretty excited, too.

10Go for it, Sharon! That describes half the people in my family and three-fourths of the redheads.

11Sharon, I discovered my inner redhead four years ago and haven’t looked back since (and I was born a blue-eyed blond)
Hair color, birds, baby anecdotes, NASCAR and biting political satire — it’s all good.

12At birth day to twenty five, I see nothing but beautiful blond females around me in town. Is OK, I not bored. But one day I go to cine and I see Holly Hunter with big red hair, I know I have to depart and be coming til USA. Is true! (Anyone know where she live?)

13Uncle Adam’s contribution to the well rounded education of a Young Genius is now up at ToddlerTube. Not since Sammy Davis and the Will Mastin Trio has there been such a display of talent in an Uncle-Nephew team.

15I’m sure Hugo has figured out that, since he lives in LA, learning to walk is a completely pointless and wasteful exercise.

16Dale, Hugo is an East Coast baby. Fonzie Grommit, on the other hand, will be a sunglass wearin’, meeting takin’ native of California.
(Oh and thanks Aunt Susie for the heads up on yarn color)

17What? Hugo is in my very city and his mommy has yet to come bring him to visit? Susie—just follow the sound of the big ticking biological clock, you’ll find me.
As far as the West Coast baby, may I suggest a slight amendment from Fonzie to Fozzie? Vaguely sleazy mechanic sitcom character vs. adorable furry comedian Muppet bear…seems like a no-brainer.

18Dave v. E. reports in his blog that he had a little running accident the other day, so I will take it upon myself to point out that there is a new page of GYWO cartoons at http://www.mnftiu.cc/mnftiu.cc/war72.html.
Thank the gods and goddesses that I can still laugh.

19Oh, I knew that including not one, but two links was going to trigger Fanny! But now there’s a nice polite message to tell me that my comment is in the moderation queue and will have to be read by a real human. If there’s one thing that no one has ever accused me of, it’s moderation!
I wonder what would happen if I just split it up into two posts…?

22Sharon, thanks for the GYWO link. For those who are inclined to this sort of activity, there is a total lunar eclipse tonight starting at about 8:45 on the east coast and should hit totality around 10:00 for a little less than an hour. Please check your time zone for local times.

And, coop, we’re hoping for some cloud breaks. Happy lunar viewing all.

24There was a thin cloud layer at the beginning of the eclipse here in western CT, but then it cleared, and we had a great view. But it’s cold, d@mn cold, out there. I tried to take some photos with the new digital SLR I got for Christmas/birthday, but I’ve only been using it in automatic mode, and wasn’t able to learn fast enough to get anything useful–every photo was overexposed, even after I found what is supposed to be the bracketing feature. I dug out the film SLR–which I do know how to use–but then I couldn’t find a tripod—and I have two of them!
{grumble, grumble} Technology! How did Mr. Scott put it? (according to the web, he said:) “The more they overtech the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.”

25While we were all out watching the eclipse, the NYTimes has published a story on its website about John McCain’s relationship with a young, attractive lobbyist for the telecomm industry during his 2000 campaign.

And in other news, Bill O’Reilly took a sentence made by Obama’s wife, twisted it around, and is now organizing a “lynching party” for her. From his radio show today - I don’t want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there’s evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels….
Smooth, Bill. Real class.

27The clouds parted down here on the edge of the Green Swamp, and I am about ten miles from the nearest urban/suburban light pollution, so way cool view. I watched the last one in town, and what a difference. I envy anyone living like 30 or 40 miles from light pollution, especially if it is a crisp, clear night there. I am still awed by a clear night sky.

28Totality was blocked here in the S.F. Bay Area by remnants of last night’s storm, and then I had to go into my chorus rehearsal (7 PM). When the rehearsal took a break around 9 PM Pacific, the sky was clear and we got to see about 3/4 of a moon with a semicircular bite out of the top, like a cookie sampled by someone who didn’t like the taste. It wasn’t very exciting. (Sigh. I guess I have to wait till 2010.)

Farris Thorne, you and Stanley Kubrick between you have much to answer for.
