Sorry I’ve been so taciturn, friends and neighbors. It’s been a busy, busy week in Felbtown.
Tonight’s show promises to be pretty entertaining. Hopefully, that’s all it’ll be.

1Adam, I’ll catch your show this week when I get home. (I really like the fact that HBO shows it almost every night). Today I got to take all 3 kids and all 6 grandkids to the Brookfield Zoo. Ocassionally life is really good.

2Sheesh, Murray! That sounds so much better than being barricaded behind SPD’s fences for 3 hours during the March. More to follow. I promise!

3Looking forward to the follow up, SeattleTammy.
Meanwhile, an intriguing, reasonably concise collected review of 12 books by Chalmers Johnson that very effectively encapsulates the effed up GWOT, with a nifty zinger on the Federalist Society
mind?set.

5We drove into Hardwick to shop at the Buffalo Mountain Food Co-op yesterday and after we stocked up on bulgar, dried apricots, black olives, etc., we went into Montpelier for one of Marco’s garden fresh cheeseless pizzas, no anchovies. They are terrific!! We had hoped to catch a movie, since we were in the big city (big joke!), but when we tried to start the Nissan - no go - dead battery. Fortunately, there is a Wal-Mart about a mile away. Actually, it’s unfortunate that they have come this far north, but short of burning them out, whatcha gonna do? We made the hike for a replacement battery (which they had in stock, saints be praised!).
Heather commented that Wal-Marts are like throbbing black holes for Hispanics. You’ll be happy to know I gave her a sharp elbow to the ribs - I wish she wouldn’t talk like that. But I do have to tell you, there were quite a few there. I hope they all grew up in the Andes Mountains, because it’s fixing to get wicked cold here. I hope they know what there getting into. We took turns carrying the battery back to the car - those suckers are heavy! I never knew before. The unplanned battery purchase pretty much broke the bank, so we passed on the movie and headed home.
A storm whipped through here last week and most of the leaves are on the ground now. It looks, smells and feels like winter’s just around the corner. I’m not mentally ready for that.

6I finally watched Real Time last night. It was interesting, to be sure. Is is just me, or does Wes Clark seem a wee bit defensive?
I think it’s interesting that Andrew Sullivan is an Obama guy (not to be confused with the Obama Girl, who, by the way has a pretty funny video about Ann Coulter out these days …). Why doesn’t Sullivan come out of the closet (okay, bad choice of words) and admit he’s a liberal after all? It’s okay, Andrew … embrace your inner lefty.
I mean, not that there’s anything wrong with it …

7gillian,
Did you order enough pizza for everybody? It sounds awfully good, although I really like those smelly little fish, especially with the local brew. Just askin’…
Looks like pb on local leftist bakery untainted whole wheat will have to do at the moment, however.
