Can you define "Aid and comfort"? I don't know why a difference of opinion makes you a traitor.

Fowler, might as well remove the nest. Don't want to encourage them to re-use it, I suspect. Probably makes good compost, being rich in organic matter and all.

How many did they fledge? And congratulations on sheparding them through this successfully.

WF, when we come visiting, we'll bring our own. Tammy is damn particular about her beer. Me, I'm a wine guzzling liberal. We wish we drove a Volvo. And we'll want to see birds. No birds, we ain't visitin'. (Please leave the shotgun in the closet. And we're not going out hunting with you and the Veep).

I won't deny that the photo might have influenced my purchase of that album, but it was secondary to the fact that I already owned about eight other ones she'd done (and still do). She was one of the best rock song interpreters around for that 10-15 year period.

Interestingly, while Googling for the Leibovitz photos I came across an article/interview with her (Dallas Morning News, maybe?) where she said she didn't like Leibovitz much as a person. Ronstadt felt (if I remember the skimmed article correctly) she was being pushed around while the photo session was taking place.

gillian, I have all the respect in the world for my fellow FanAp readers of whatever gender. I was merely pointing out the work of a major 20th century photographer and one of her subjects.

(cough)

Oh, for the droolers among us, here's the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Hasten-Down-Wind-Linda-Ronstadt/dp/B000002GY7" rel="nofollow">cover art</a> for Ronstadt's <i>Hasten Down the Wind</i>.

SeattleDan, "aid & comfort" come to mind...and exponentially, coming from the leader of the Senate.
Also, I don't think you want to cut my head off, but if you come by, don't be surprised if the beer I offer you is in a can, while mine is in a bottle...just in case.
Nice try Mr. Coop. That bit is @ least a month old and is a spoof of a lib, black, LA times writer doing a hit piece on Obama...Please try again.
Ann said birds...
Siobhan, now that the wren(s) have vacated, do I chunk the nest?

In case you are like me and missed Bill Moyers' 90-minute documentary "Buying the War" on PBS, it is available on his website:

http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/btw/watch.html

Strong stuff. And it takes me back to those heady days of being glared at for questioning our motives as we ramped up for the Iraq War.
