Apparently she was making dinner, broke a glass, maimed her finger, and ran over to the neighbors for help. It put me off spaghetti sauce for months. Any U.S. single payer health system would be run by us, as in "we have met the patient and he is us" (apologies to Walt Kelly), and there seems to be something in the American psyche that makes it necessary for us to produce reams of forms for ourselves to fill out... It does get funded since old people vote. I get medicaid, recently cut even more, which purports to cover crippled and indigent kids. It's obvious they don't vote. I'm upset the drug companies got a pass from government price fixing under medicare (and consequently, everything else). Hospitals & providers are controlled, but I don't see it for pharmaceuticals. And why are they allowed to advertise prescription drugs on TV? Do any of you find that helpful or desirable? I don’t get to deal with medicare. It does get funded since old people vote.
