Come on guys/gals/small furry things from Alpha Centauri... What Bush is told to say does NOT equal what actually passes his lips, and THAT doesn't equal what is implied or inferred or implicated or indubificated by Mere Mortals like us.

If you're about to lose a piece you don't want to lose, CHANGE THE RULES. Or, even better, just change the ORDER of the rules. Or take the rules away and replace them with random selections from the White House Dictionary... Anyone seen this tome?

Why shouldn't W change the rules as he goes? If he can fix elections, concoct evidence for a war, and basically lie about everything of policy, this is of little importance.

Is a crime still a crime after a presidential pardon, or does it magically disappear? Not that being let go would prevent Rove from taking a lucrative consulting job at the White House, perhaps occupying the vacant Deputy Chief of Staff's office. But they didn't back down at the Alamo, so neither will Dubs. If I recall my history correctly, at the Alamo there was a back door that they all squirmed out of, they declared that it had been a fight to the last man, and nobody got hurt except that liberal secular humanist Santa Anna.

Boy, I just love word games -- especially those read apparently by some overgrown frat boy who apparently never learned to grow up and take responsibility. Yeah, him firing anyone for anything other than doing the right thing -- like that's going to happen.

I'm looking forward to the day when "committed a crime" is changed to "has exhausted all his appeals."

Seriously, Duhbya's climb-down on what it takes to get fired means two things:

- someone important in the White House did the leak (Rove, of course; Scooter Libby almost definitely; who else?)

- Duhbya knows it and doesn't want to let a silly thing like principle stand in the way of keeping his henchmen

What I wonder is will they change the definition of "crime" or "work" or "my administation".
