Pete,

Adam, the price one pays for reaching for one’s dreams… Paula rolled Roy and PJ today (actually last evening, I guess) and made history (her first win) and, regrettably, you missed it as you’ve spent your recent days and nights slack-jawed and glassy eyed in front of your pc, massaging your manuscript for the 1500th time. I guess it is tough to finally say it’s finished & let that puppy go.

Anyway, best of luck! My son and I are off to the Great White North for a couple of weeks of R & R. July in the Carolinas is just too darn hot.

Actually, I think the problem with liberalism is not so much that it gives rise to “lax cultural attitudes” but to idiotic statements like this.

When Canada legalized gay marriage, I heard something on the radio saying most Canadians were opposed but they didn’t think it was really an issue. They had their own moral code, but didn’t need to apply it to others.

In the U.S., however, people can actually take statements like Santorum’s seriously.

Yet again, I fail to understand the human mind.
