When you post these kinds of things Adam I’ve always read the smaller text above the dashed line as the actual story and the larger text below the line as your satire. This time I actually thought the whole thing was true - especially after following the Bush web site link.

My favorite line is:

Among the “tie-in” initiatives are a new TV commercial that magically morphs the two Presidents’ faces into one, the coining of “The Nipper” as Bush’s new nickname, and the prosaic new campaign slogan “Bush: Because Ronald Reagan Would Vote For Him If He Wasn’t Dead. But He Is. So It’s Up To You.”

Up until that third point I was fully under the impression that these were actual initiatives.

Nice work. Love it.

Also - congrats on the book and TV stuff. I hope that your TV show gets clips on the internet ’cause I too have no TV (and very much the better for it for the most part).

Reagan is still a resident of California, and more of a permanent resident, so of course he will be voting for Bush, it’s already been counted by the current governator.

A few pictures of the coffin being escorted to the polls on election day, and Dubya wins.

Congrats on the book and TV deals, other than me, you deserve it most.

One of the more bizarre tie-ins is the new $10 bill with a holographic photo that morphs from Reagan to W. Even stranger is how the value of the ten spot changes as you twist it in the light; Reagan to W goes $7.00 to $0.23.
I guess it has to do with the deficit or quality of life or something.

Political satire. It never ceases to amuse me, and yet it always has a frightening edge to it. I think there’s a little voice in the back of my head reminding me that the laughable satire isn’t far from the truth. And these people run the country? Eesh.

I’m seriously beginning to doubt they’ll ever bury Reagan’s coffin. “You know… it looks kind of nice there. Let’s prop it up and call it a monument.” Or maybe he’ll become the American Lenin. It’s all fine and dandy to honor him and all, but do they have to parade his corpse-in-a-box?

Anyway… Found your site by complete accident, but glad I did. I’d toss a compliment here and there, but you don’t need me to tell you that you’re a good writer. Thanks for your work.
