From the desk of Ramzi Bamar, Vice President, Gaza Rentals Inc.
Dear Mr. Arafat;
Regarding your request for office space rental for your Fatah movement, I regret to inform you that we do not have any available properties at the present time.
Yes, as you point out, our ad in yesterday’s “Gaza-ette” did advertise “hundreds of affordable properties available now.” But, as it turns out we had a… thing. Yes, a thing - a run, in fact, yes, that’s it, a run on our properties. I guess our new ad was amazingly effective, and we found ourselves suddenly with all of our available office rentals just plain… rented up. With long-term leases too, as it turns out, which is great. Who’d have thought that the business community in Gaza would suddenly start thriving like that? Weird, huh? Good of course, but weird.
So, much as it pains us, since we’re such super-big supporters of you and Fatah, we’re going to have to suggest you try our competition. It’s a real pity, because we’d love to see you all set up in new offices that we provided, but such is life.
Anyway, I’m sorry to hear about the helicopter attack, but I know you’ll get set up somewhere nice sometime soon. Everyone here is rooting for you. Long live the movement!
Best,
Ramzi

1Listen, Yassir, we have an affiliated property mgmt company in Tunis, and they tell me there are tons, just tons of rentable space there. Even compounds with multiple acres! Shall I have them call you?
