Time again for one of those narcissistic round-ups of the recent doings of Me and Mine. Rest assured, ill-considered and intemperate satire will return tomorrow.
- The Next Big Broadway Musical will return next month to thrill NY audiences. I’ll be co-directing this time out. This summer’s run sold out nearly every performance, and we’re all extremely excited to be sellouts again. Watch this spot for updates.
- My “Wait Wait” mate Roy Blount Jr. has a fancy new website. No, it’s not a blog. National treasures do not blog. At least, Roy doesn’t. The site, however, is filled with Blounty bounty.
- Yesterday I shot a li’l TV thing for a new show hosted by the remarkable Sklar brothers. It’s sort of a vintage-sports version of “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” and it’ll premiere, I believe, on ESPN Classic some time soon. My role, for the second time this winter, was that of a pathetic, unsuccessful, washed-up loser. Should I be reading something into this?
- Rick Schmitz, creator of Fanny the Roborat and many other fine images for this site, also has a spiffy new site. I think it’s safe to say that Rick is the reason why my presidential campaign is off to such a rollicking start (we’re 3 points ahead of Edwards! (Okay, Edwards is at -5%. But still, we’re ahead of him)).
- My pal Christian Finnegan, author of the mighty Tower of Hubris, will not be updating his fine blog quite so frequently in the coming weeks. He’s got a great excuse, though - he’s landed a job writing for Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn! Watch the show, thrill to the Finny-penned goodness.
- Carol Moseley Braun has dropped out of the race. Apparently, she’s throwing her support behind Howard Dean, which really steams me up - I could’ve used those 47 votes.

1The Sklar brothers had a stand up segment on Comedy Central (back when I had TV) that I’ve never been able to get out of my head. Those two had that back and forth announcer style down so well. Every time I see a news helicopter I think about their “Chopper 4, first on the scene” skit. Although I’ve always remembered it as Chopper 5. The best is that a local TV news station (SF Bay Area) just started to tout their very own “Chopper 5″.

2Didn’t they have some short of show on MTV (Apt. 2B?) where one brother was slack and the other dwelled in cubeland? The show was hi-larious, whether that was them or not.

4I was sad when Carol Moseley Braun dropped out. I thought she was a pretty cool lady.

5Just found someone who had a clip of the Chopper 4 skit in case anyone’s interested - http://storage.flashstyle.org/blizz/vids.html (WMV)
And I also agree that it’s too bad about Ms. Braun. Listening to the debates I started thinking I don’t give a damn if “they” say she can’t win, I really liked what she had to say and I was seriously thinking of voting for her in our primary.
I am glad that she stayed in for as long as she did and got in to those debates.

6Thanks for the plug! I’m in the market for a new job, so if anyone out there needs a talented artist who’s also a great guy and is pretty modest too, shoot me a line!
Adam, yer the best, and if you ever need a cartoon, gimme a call!

7For those of you who can watch American cable television, has Colin Quinn gotten any better since he was suckin’ boulders as SNL news anchor?
