An example of the right way to land a cheap shot:

Feint for the throat
I've heard theories that W knew about 9/11 in advance.

Show your good will
But I'm sure they can't be true. The only reason these theories get repeated is that this Administration has been so untrustworthy and unwilling to allow open investigation.

The real attack
They could clear all this up by simply releasing information to the commission, but, instead, they have stonewalled the whole time. Whatever they're hiding must be pretty bad if they won't disprove these wild theories. What are they hiding?

Hey, Adam....

You forgot to include the drinking rules!!!

I'm sure it was just an oversight. I mean really, this screams drinking game like nothing I've seen since your State of the Union Drinking Game (for those of us that remember that far back...and i'll admit the memory is pretty fuzzy...)

Y'know, I wish you were Australian and talking about Aussie politics. You sound like my kind of people - it's a shame that I cannot relate to more on the FA site than just a generic distaste for the current US administration.

If we give credit where credit is due, can we steal your idea for over here? Honest Johnny stands to rival Bush in the point stakes when his own election campaign takes off next year (I shit you not).

Keep up the good work and we'll keep up the plagiarising...
Cheers from Australia

Adam, how do you intend to avoid the conflict of interest with your own campaign? Have you dropped out of the race, even before the Iowa caucus?? :-)

Adam

You may have created a great American political institution, here. Just hope that someone doesn't try to turn it into a boardgame.

And to top it off, you sneak in a feature that has a tremendous likelihood of breathing life back into the Forum (which has been more than a bit close to moribund of late).

Congratulations!

Road to Surfdom does a fair job IMO of tracking Aussie politics, provided you dislike Johnny.
Adam, I'm afaid we may need boots to visit your site as this takes off. But you know, that's pretty much what the next 11 months will look like. Them's the breaks.

Ok I'll try to do this.
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/12/23/politics/campaigns/23DEAN.html?ei=5062&en=069b2492c69761ac&ex=1072846800&partner=GOOGLE&pagewanted=print&position=

quote: "Asked by The Quad-City Times, which is based in Davenport, Iowa, to complete the sentence "My closest living relative in the armed services is," Dr. Dean wrote in August, "My brother is a POW/MIA in Laos, but is almost certainly dead....His answer to the newspaper's question, published on Dec. 14 as part of a regular feature on The Quad-City Times's editorial page in which the Democratic presidential candidates respond to questions intended to probe their persona, drew complaints from readers and a rebuke from the newspaper's editorial board on Sunday. The editorial was circulated to a handful of reporters on Monday by a rival campaign." I guess we're not sure to whom award the points for that.

But later the article goes on to to mention a Kerry Campaign tactic: "When voters arrived at a high school here on Monday evening, they were greeted by volunteers for one of his opponents, Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, giving out doughnut holes and a three-page handout criticizing Dr. Dean's record on foreign policy. The stunt capitalized on Dr. Dean's statement on Sunday that if nominated he would seek a running mate with international experience because "I need to plug that hole in the résumé."

If I understand the rules correctly that's 10 points to Kerry.
