Apparently, “Country Music’s 40 Greatest Fashion Statements” is airing nowadays. That’d be the show featuring noted country music fashionista Adam Felber. On CMT.
Do I know a lot about country music? Well, let’s just say I know more about it than I do about fashion, as the shirt I’m wearing on the show amply illustrates. I do love Lyle Lovett, but for some reason his sartorial splendor wasn’t a hot topic.
Mo Rocca’s on the show as well. Between us, we just scream country authenticity. In fact, just yesterday we got together and screamed “Country authenticity!” A lot of people at the 14th Street subway station found this puzzling, but it made us feel good.
Speaking of Mo, he’s the host of “Smoking Gun TV,” as many of you know. We’re just finishing shooting, and it’s really been a great experience. It’ll air on December 17th, so start canceling all your surrounding holiday party commitments now.

1“What do Leon Rebone, Tom Wolf, and Pope John Paul, have in common?
They’re all prisoners of their cloths.
If they would change the cloths they wear
no one would stop and stare.
Prisoners of their cloths.
What do Lyle Lovett, Don King, Krystol Gayle, and Little Richard have in common?
They’re all prisoners of their hair.
If they would change the way they wear their hair
no one would stop and stare.
Prisoners of their hair.”

2Dude! I checked the CMT schedule, and the special aired for the final time last Thursday. You need to work on your self-promotion…

3Ah well, I don’t have cable so I do tend to miss a lot a important TV (Ha!)
Good one, Murray. I love Christine Lavin. She is such a hoot!

5Katie and Chicory,
This is probably the only place on the internet that would have several people familiar with Christine. I’ve seen her in concert half a dozen times and she has to be one of the best entertainers (except Adam of course) in America.
