Yes, Fanatical Apathy fans, the Forum is busted at the moment. I’m currently consulting with the fine folks of the phpBB open-source community to figure out how to get it going again.
The problem it seems, is you.
Don’t take it too personally. as near as I can tell, the Forum became overloaded with your witticisms, observations and queries, and I need to install some sort of module to periodically thin out some of the older posts. this I will do. The Forum shall rise again.
Meanwhile, I won’t leave you voiceless. I’ve decided to institute the all new, periodically-posted Fanatical Apathy Q&A. That’s right, if you have some questions for me (or any of the enormous staff here at F.A.), just post ‘em in the Comments below. I’ll answer as many as I can in forthcoming posts.
These questions can be political, personal, mathematical, or epistemological. Need some advice about your love life? Wondering about the migratory habits of the yellow-crested bobolink? Interested in hearing the details of my 1998 nostrilectomy? Ask away, gentle readers; all (or at least some) shall be revealed.

3So, when are you and Mo Rocca going to be on “Wait, Wait” at the same time again.
And…Does Bush’s “co-piloting” of the plane he took out to the carrier mean that he’s now fufilled his service commitment to the Texas Air Nat’l Guard?

4where do you get your ideas
my own question is sort of the reverse. with so much to parody every day, how do you manage to limit yourself to one post a day? and how do you choose which one to take on? is this part of the training to “stay on message” when you run for president?

7How many crows does it take to become a murder of crows?
And how can we get a murder of crows to poop on the president, in a really mean way?

10Given the ever-narrowing gap between satire and the daily headlines, when do you think you’ll have to pack it in and find another line of work?

11Please tell us about the nostrilectomy. I see nasal surgery in my future. I don’t scare easily.

12Don’t worry, they don’t surgically remove your nose unless it’s red, … uh … (oops) Rudolph.

13Have you heard anything from AnShell Media? Aren’t they supposed to start in time for the 2004 presidential race? (Visit anshellmedia.com for more info, those who don’t know what I’m talking about. Contact them and demand Adam Felber, even!)

17Public Comment to Adam:
You can clearly see, from the above, the kind of pressures that build up amongst this group when access to The Forum is denied. Even with the ebbs and flows in participation, The Forum obviously fills a vital need in the lives of this pathetic (oops, make that highly esteemed) group of the population.
Please resurrect it pronto! Who knows what could happen without it!!

18Sorry to have an un-funny question, but:
What is the approxamate size of the regular FA readership? I’d be very interested to know.

19Is the following exchange apocryphal, or did it actually occur?
British correspondent: Mr. Gandhi, what do you think of Western civilisation?
Gandhi: I think it would be a good idea.

22Mean Tim, no suggestions about migration. Just trying to remember which swallow was the more burley one to be able to carry a coconut. The discussion was never resolved.

24Felber mon:
I presume the antique “Wedding Album” topic was part of the Forum overload. However, it seems that Craig and I,at least, are still interested in the subject and the pix!!!!
Anyone else?

25I’ve ALWAYS been interested. But as someone who is still finding pictures from our “Welcome Y2K” party in the rolls I got back from FotoMat last week, I understand completely.
